J-Soft BlogWednesday, March 26, 2003I can't help but notice that CNN's coverage of the war seems strikingly similar to, lets say FOX's coverage of the super bowl, or really any sports coverage in general. It's all, gung ho, "cool, we're fighting a war. What's the score?". I saw a reporter interviewing a fighter pilot, who was only too enthusiastic to be in combat. What struck me was a complete lack of awareness of what harm she may have been causing. It seemed like she was talking about finally being able to play the coolest most reallistic new video game. Yes, she's a fighter pilot, and she's obligated to carry out her orders, but should she not have the humility to at least acknowledge and be aware of just what it is she is really doing? That this is no video game, and real people are being killed. posted by Jesse at 12:07 PM # |
